How we hold this room
Every Circle opens with these, stated plainly, and a buddy thread is held to the same ones. They're short on purpose - rules you can actually remember are rules a room can actually keep.
No advice unless someone asks for it.
"That happened to me too" is welcome. "What you should do is…" waits for an invitation.
No platitudes.
Nobody here says "everything happens for a reason," "they're in a better place," or "at least…". If you've been on the receiving end of those sentences, you know why.
What's shared in the Circle stays in the Circle.
Other people's stories, names, and hard dates are not yours to carry out of the room - not to other circles, not to social media, not to mutual friends.
Nobody has to talk.
Reading along is real attendance. Nobody follows up with guilt.
Anger is welcome. Targets are not.
Grief runs hot and this room can take it. Keep it pointed at situations, not at named, findable people.
This is peer support, not therapy.
Facilitators are trained peers with lived loss, not clinicians. If a facilitator or the safety team believes someone needs more than a room can offer, they'll say so and point to real help - that's care, not rejection. If you're in crisis right now: support lines.
When an agreement is broken, a facilitator may remove a post (the safety team reviews every removal) and, for repeated or serious harm, we may remove someone from a Circle, from the buddy pool, or from the community. We'd rather never do that - the agreements exist so we don't have to.
Plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask: info@grieftrips.com.
